Wow these weeks are flying by and it’s starting to feel like I have no progress to share if I’m honest. I’m now on a walking stick fully, except at home as I can use the short corridors to walk unaided.

Had the dentist twice since the last week’s update, as my teeth and jaw are falling apart, teeth and jaw too weak to have any repairing dental work, so I’m being fitted for some dentures to help take off the pressure of some teeth. It really sucks being me sometimes with everything falling apart. And I will say the dentist always scares me.

I’ve also had the worse menstrual cramps and cycle ever, after 3 months of nothing. So that’s sucked all energy out of me, which is so annoying as I have things to do, places to be. But that rendered me in pjs, with hot water bottles for days I couldn’t move.

I’ve had to cancel my 29th November physio and move it to 15th December, as I’ve got yet another funeral to attend. This is the third loss in 4mths, and honestly it’s having its toll on everything. Health, mind and physically. It’s been a tough time emotionally.

Now I would say the hip is improving and I feel less vulnerable, it’s time to go out and enjoy some things again.

First up we have a wander around the quarry park in Shrewsbury. Ever classy we have a bottle of Prosecco and throw away cups!! To mark the occasion, we are going all out!

And this one is a bit different. It’s theatre but with drinking?? The thinking drinkers show.

The Thinking Drinkers are back in UK theatres with “Thinking Drinkers Pub Quiz”.

The blurb ~ Our hilarious, brand new show gets the rounds in, in more ways than one, with every audience member getting FIVE FREE drinks while competing for amazing prizes in a cabaret-style quiz hosted by award-winning experts, comedians, alco-demics and hooch historians

Five free drinks, yes pls. I’m so in.

Little bags handed out, we take our seats and dive in, we have a can of Beer, and shot plastic cups for Gin,Rum, Bourbon and Toki Whiskey. Some paperwork and pens too. As it is a pub quiz.

The facts and history was actually really interesting, they were engaging and funny, some humour was a tad too childish, but we had an amazing time. They definitely reminded me of Horrible Histories, which I absolutely love.

“I was born in Kent but spent most of my working life in London and Surrey. I was an apprentice florist to Constance Spry Ltd, a prestigious Mayfair shop that throughout the sixties and seventies teemed with both royalty and ‘real’ celebrities. What an eye-opener for a working-class kid from the Garden of England! I swore then, probably whilst I was scrubbing the floor or making the tea, that I would have a shop of my own one day. It took until the early eighties, but I did it. Sadly the recession wiped us out, and I embarked on a series of weird and wonderful jobs; the last one being a bookshop manager. Surrounded by books all day, getting to order whatever you liked, and being paid for it! Oh bliss!
And now I live in a village in the Lincolnshire Fens with my partner, Jacqueline, a highly decorated retired police officer, and our four barking mad Springer spaniels. If I do get any spare time, which is rare these days, my one relaxation is painting, especially using soft pastels. We have been here for twenty years now and although I’ll never be a true ‘Yeller Belly’, a native born to this county, I have adopted it as my own. I love the mists, the big skies and the endless waterways. All my books are set here on the Fens, and why not? The location is perfect for murder!”

My Review I’m sure I’ve read a couple by Joy Ellis now, or at least one. So this is a nice stand alone as I definitely haven’t read the entire series.

Dark, gritty and grim, but fast paced and highly charged, this mystery is guaranteed to keep you on your toes. Some eye roll moments over romantic scenes (my pet hate) felt more 70s steamy novel style. But the page turning hook didn’t leave me for long, as the plot definitely stirs up emotions in yourself.

Who wouldn’t fear having been broken in, but they only take a photograph, it’s unnerving and a hell of a roller coaster read.
