What’s been going on since we last spoke? Well I’ve been wrestling my own demons trying to make a decision, and honestly I’m no closer. I speak to fellow hippies, family and physiotherapist, and ultimately they all say it’s up to me, but I’m confused and overwhelmed.

But warm weather has returned and sadly pain hasn’t gone with the wet weather, so I know for sure now that the steroid injection has worn off, I had a glorious month, I’m just sad it wasn’t longer.

Not only has my hip steroid worn off but so too has my thumb one too, so I’m feeling like most joints and bones ache beyond belief. And the opposite thumb is flaring up too. Thank goodness for splints. Sadly for this I don’t see a rheumatologist until 9th October, so heck of a wait. Least hip is in 2 weeks time.

Because it’s all kicked off again, my physio appointment was gentle this time, lower reps, some exercises removed too, as she could see the pain some brought on. I fear I’m coming to the end of any possible improvement physio wise, as muscles are strong now, stronger than they’ve ever been. I see them again after seeing the Surgeon.

Pleased to say I’ve completed week 4 of #couch25k #couchto5k yes it totally took 3 weeks to do the three runs, but life, flare ups and events filled my time in between. But I’m over the moon we are still on this improvement train, ankles and knees are benefiting from it. Now up to 3mins brisk walking, slight bounce to step unaided. After 3 mins it’s either breathing or piriform is that kicks in, so it’s not fully sustainable, but it’s improving. Only bad thing is, I constantly feel like my hip joint is a sword, each step is a stab!!

It’s that time again… The annual event of #SBS Small Business Sunday at #ICCBirmingham. A time for us all to be inspired, encouraged, and supported by the Shopkeeper himself #TheoPaphitis

How I got into this prestigious club?  I tweeted my business to Theo on a Sunday night and he goes through them all and choses 6 winners each week. Boom I’m a winner. I won 1st April 2012. And it’s been awesome, admittedly I have had health setbacks along the way that hinder moving forwards, but I’m grateful to have this opportunity to see him, and hear the speakers, see buyers, manufacturers, understanding business more. Knowing that this value wealth of knowledge and understanding will pay dividends in the future.

I wish we got new photos with the man himself each year, but alas its only at your first year you get one! Here’s mine 2012

Here it is again on Friday 23rd Feb and I can’t wait. It’s well catered for disabilities which is always good to know, the food available is catered to all needs, and usually it’s just great fun to see so many winners, the speakers and to hear others successes.

Trying to decide on clothes and of course jewellery to wear now… I’ll probably wear my eye catching Gemstone Chakra Tree of Life necklace and a collection of my Peace bracelets, as both are bright bold and me!

Until then, it’s a mad dash to ensure hip behaves itself until the day, organising clothes, make up and hair. It will be lovely to not be in clothes that I do daily physio in, and to just have a break from physio too. Back after the event to tell you more.

Now I’m attempting to increase activity in my life, I’ve noticed a few things. And it’s not good. I’ve noticed I steer clear of so many things because I’m protecting my hip, my lower back, and other joints. I’m literally falling apart!!

A few days ago I held a plate and my right forearm how has a swelling hump near my watch! IMG_20180206_173239015

Then I was attempting to get up off the floor, intense shooting pain in left wrist and bruised now, I guess it’s all thanks to #EhlersDanlosSyndrome everything feels loose, harder to keep in place, and just sheer exhausted all the time.

And today, well today I stepped normal I believed, but hip felt insanely odd, and gave way. Which could be my EDS playing up, or simply the Arthroscopy surgery has destabilised my hip and because I have hip dysplasia they don’t really go together well. In fact it’s rarely offered as a surgery option to hip dysplasia sufferers because it can hugely destabilise the joint.

Feeling very fragile, frustrated and sorry for myself. I’m arming myself with questions to ask my Physiotherapist on Thursday, and see if I can work around these issues.

Express yourself with Letter boards #Gingersnap

Archive, Blogger Reviews, Events, Family Adventures

A couple of weeks ago, I approached Gingersnap about their #LetterBoards I wanted to see this latest board that has become popular. And they agreed to send me one for a review. Gingersnap is here and they do a lot more than just letter boards, I spotted a lot of Valentine’s gifts here too. Here is the link for the board itself

So here it is… First I must explain I’m a tired, overwhelmed housewife, and being 40 plus I’m not usually into gimmicks.

I’d loved the light boxes I’d seen before but never bought one, as the batteries or plug limited the options for me. This one appealed more as it’s totally mobile, you can use anywhere. That fits into my life so much more.

And at 10inch x 10inch you can fit a lot in, the 300 letters and symbols give you a HUGE variety of sentence, words, quotes to write. I got the midnight blue one, so the white lettering really stands out. But I’ve seen they do a Tiffany blue (this one is pure gorgeous) and Baby Pink too, so pastel lovers are well catered for. You can stand alone, or hang on the wall, I opted for standing against things, so it’s to hand whenever the mood strikes to have a change of message.

At first I thought, what would I write?? A few friends and I are sailor’s mouthed fiends, so it was tempting to put cuss words. But being an adult, I ended up using it as info for the family, announcement, or quotes, or even advertising this blog!!

We could have used this at my eldest daughters wedding last May. Or even the announcement of my first Grandchild, noting his monthly milestones. Literally you could have so much fun, writing anything your hearts desire.

And I’ve had so much fun doing it, it’s captured a light-hearted side of me, gave me something to think about, be creative and even now I’m thinking you could help children, grandchildren to read, to spell, have educational learning play. It’s way more than it first appears, and you can utilize it however you like. For that I give it a huge thumbs up, I’ve really enjoyed it. I would add that I found storing the letters in organza bags easier for me, but they aren’t included (maybe add some?) So I could store them quickly and compactly.
