27 weeks post #hiparthroscopy

Moving on from week to week and not much has happened this week, except I’m poorly again!! Just a chesty cough and woolly headedness, so I’ll live.

But I did visit the doctor over my hand, as it’s getting too hard to hold the simplest of things lately. The basal joint of the thumb feels like electric shocks, when I try to hold cups, plates or my phone. It’s been like it on and off for a year or so?? Wonder if Arthritis or just Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Anyways had bloods taken to check, and I’m being referred to MiCats for physiotherapy and steroid injection for it. So that’s 2 steroids in 2 different joints this year!! I need this hand for my walking stick. For now I brace it on bad days, but when it settles I take it off, so it’s not solely dependant on it.

So for physio it’s been PANTS for a week, barely done any, as I’ve had family visits, doctor’s visits, then blood test visits, and honestly they’ve just took it out of me. Just being still hurts so I’ve had no desire to move the hip. Maybe it’s increased on pain because the weather is so damp? Or because it’s that time of cycle when it all flares up (when my whole body feels broken and shattered) or simply being ill makes me feel things more?

Just waiting on blood results next and of course appointments to come through from steroid in hip, physio for hand, and steroid for hand. Can’t wait to get them all done and dusted, though I’m scared!!

First week of #marchmeetthemaker2018

Archive, Challenges, Randoms, Miscellaneous

Yes I’m back at it again, using @joannehawker guide to allow customers, followers etc to see the person behind the makes on their shops.

Now I’m never going to suddenly be a selfie queen, so this challenge actually helps me show myself, without some deranged mad woman’s selfie looking back at you.

Each day has a theme to base your Instagram photo on, some are easy, some hard, and maybe some impossible?!

Day 1 – You, here is me at the last #sbsevent2018

Day 2 – Where, my local town is half olde worlde and modern.

Day 3 – How you started, I started following this surgery, I had a #TriplePelvicOsteotomy and FemoralOsteotomy done at the same time, and was rendered immobile and housebound.

Day 4 – Favourite make, mine is the Gothic style jewellery I did, that also got featured in Shine On Jewellery magazine.

Day 5 – Photography, I honestly have nothing fancy. Occasionally I use a white box, nice surroundings, my child as a model. But always always use my phone as my camera.

Day 6 – Workspace, I don’t have an area just to work on, I’m often doing it on my lap while watching TV. I love that I can do it anywhere. My biggest workspace is really my brain, it all starts here.

Day 7 – Routine, I simply honestly have none. I can’t always make and create as my own body works against me sometimes. So I can only do it, when I can physically and mentally. And everything I do works around pain and limitations.

2018 has not gone to plan so far….

Hello my lovelies, Well 2018 is sucking lemons for this household right now. We have all collectively been ill on and off since before Christmas. I got much much worse on the 30th Dec, resulting in tonsillitis and bacterial infection, that can potentially affect my hip operation site. And they (mini moon and Mr moon, are now developing it, and have just started their antibiotics) we are taking it in turns to nurse eachother.

At the moment I’m currently halfway through my second lot of antibiotics, much stronger more aggressive ones, as the hip pain is very very out of control and character. So you can imagine, I’ve done no physio, in fact I’ve barely moved off the sofa. I’m even sleeping on the sofa, as it allows heat pads and hot water bottles to sit in position better.

This week I’m 18 weeks post hip arthroscopy and if I’m 100% honest my hip feels worse than before surgery!! I never expected to say that, especially as I’ve done nothing at all. Silver lining it shows that instead of being worn away, worked out funny, the pain instead has to be from illness, so could potentially go away as well.

So I’ve been occupying myself with #Spiral on #Bbc4 a French police crime series, that is fast paced and very addictive.

And just last night I found #Beforewedie a #Walterpresents on #Channel4 another police thriller (I love crime shows) hoping I soon get sucked into this.

I’ve had some jewellery to create and post, but it’s been extremely difficult to do while feeling so woolly headed. But I managed a little bespoke order off to USA, one for #Dysautonomia and #Lupus

Hoping in 8 days time we are fit enough to go and see #TheLionKing in #London

New Year…. Damp squid

Well that didn’t work out like we planned. All was good over Christmas, well, as good as frequent bouts of illnesses between the 3 of us could be. Truly thought we were on the up, and maybe going out new years eve. We planned to go to our mates event, a BTYR old skool 90’s-00’s happy hardcore event. Which would of been epic! But I didn’t want to pass on my lurgie, and make every raver ill,or make myself worse.

We had a beautiful meal with my parents 30th Dec with the J’s too. (Jema my eldest daughter, and her husband) we saw a family friend too, and rounded off the night with a family tradition of viewing the Christmas lights of #Haughton village.

All was good, until bedtime. When I was sick again!! I’d been sick on the 27th but not since. Throat sore and worse still my hip groin pain had felt extra thick and swollen, tender. I wonder if a virus has spread there??

So that meant we just had to stay in this new years eve. Boring I know, but needs must. Least I had world’s strongest man to keep me entertained. (Though on jools Holland hootenanny they actually revealed the winner, a day before the final!!) I mean are you for real BBC? How shite was that, totally ruined that.

So here we are it’s 2nd Jan and I’ve barely got out of PJ’s, I’m coughing and being sick, and now I have antibiotics, as everyone was concerned about the extra pain and tenderness of the hip joint. Hopefully these will kick in soon and I can get on with plans, and physio. For now it’s rest rest rest.
