Nearly one year since my Arthroscopy, and so much has happened. It’s slipped and crunched it’s way through this year.

I’ve simultaneously felt stronger fitter and healthier, while feeling more vulnerable, more disabled at times, and more anxious that I can’t trust the joint.

So you could say it’s been a huge roller coaster, all the more frustrating as the times it’s at the highest peak it’s been amazing, I can almost taste a normal life. Only to come crashing down, and feel lost and depressed.

Not to worry though, it’s all go for the upcoming surgery. So now I feel positive and Energized for the future, and what it could bring us too.

Bloods taken this week to test for ESR and CRP levels once again. Apparently I should of had them done in May, but no one told me!! See what they say and I see the rheumatologist in one month’s time too.

Day 7 + 8 post #intra-articular #steroid injection in Hip.

Archive, Health, Hips, Hypermobility, Hip Arthroscopy, Triple Pelvic Ost, Femoral Ost, PAO

It’s been a week, and Wow that time has flown by!!

Today it’s a MiCats appointment for my hand, and I honestly expected nothing, except maybe a referral to a rheumatologist. Which did happen, hopefully appointment in 6-9 weeks time, but also I was offered the #steroid injection into the CMC joint today. I said yes, though nervous. Nicer to get it out of the way.

The doctor was lovely, she confirmed again there is no Rheumatoid Factor but high levels of inflammation. And the DIP joints ( finger top knuckles) as well as basal thumb joint all show wear and tear indications it’s Arthritis, or my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Something is happening, so it’s a process of elimination now.

Injection did smart a bit, once again I had Marcaine, Lidocaine and Kenalog injection. I’m happy as so far it’s just been hair loss as a side effect.

This is in the evening, so looks ok. Super stiff and achy though. Hurts to use, so having 24hours off. Been instructed to brace it as well.

Hand swelled up too, so I’ve removed my rings just in case.

Hip wise I confess it’s been nagging, bit grumbly and not quite right. But it’s nearly that time of the month, which usually sends ALL my joints haywire and extra painful too. So it could be that. That groin pain has gone again though so that’s all good.

Day 8 it’s mad dash packing day, why do I leave it until the last minute?? Only popping to barmouth in a cottage with family, but should be a giggle. 2 nights 3 days away, hope this weather lasts!! Packing one handed is pretty difficult I might add.

Woke up with a super stiff right shoulder and neck, not entirely sure why though? Going to need hot water bottles and ibuprofen today. Hand feels pretty good, just braced to limit its range for now.

Hopefully all will be ace while we are away, and I will be pain free too. Have a lovely weekend my lovelies xx

No physio this week, instead it’s been daily activities that normal people do. And I’m failing!! I just about manage an activity in a day, but it costs 2 days of complete reduction of any movement, or chores, or physio.

Monday we visited Clun for the green man festival, glorious sunshine and pagan friends, bringing in the summer blessings for Beltaine, it was perfect. I bought a #Selenite wand and #Quartz point, while hubby bought a gorgeous green man plaque.

We watched the battle on the bridge between the ice Queen and green man, and with his victory sunshine, warmth and life spring forth. And judging by the weather and flowers I’d say he’d successively achieved it.

Following this one day out Monday, I could not move much Tuesday, and Wednesday. The hip was crunchy, and unstable once again. I took to my crutch for support. Used a lot of hot water bottles too, to control the pain.

What I did manage to do was ring for my x-ray results (for my hand, my walking stick hand)…. Which are?? Well I don’t know, it says I require to see the doctor to discuss results, but not urgent (is to me, my hand is all but useless at this point) so appointment for gp is 31st May!! Curiosity is killing me. Only bonus is my MiCats appointment to see about steroid injection in hand is 30th May. Though I fear they will just do a consultation first, so I’ll have even longer to wait to deal with my hand!!

Bear in mind this hand has ALL of my weight going through it, it’s important so I can walk correctly and not waddle. It’s crucial to get it fixed.

And of course while hip slipped with no exercise present, shows me it’s 100% unreliable, unpredictable and I’m scared to make plans too much, as it can go at any time! I seriously hate my hip.
