Jealousy is Murder by Jeanette Taylor Ford #BlogBookTour

#ADGIFTED but all opinions are my own.

Now it’s Jan 2020 the BBC have started #FatherBrown again I’m loving my murder mysteries, also channel 5 has a murder mystery every day. So I can honestly say I’m getting my sleuth on!!

Jealousy is Murder
When a young woman is found strangled in her camper-van and her twelve-year-old son goes missing, DI Cooke and DS Grant have a dual problem on their hands. And what does this murder have to do with the fatal stabbing of a young man in Portsmouth several years before? And how on earth are residents of Sutton-on-Wye involved?

The Author
I’m a lifetime bookworm! From reading to my children to now creating stories of my own, books have always been a large, important part of my life. Those who have read my stories have enjoyed them, so I finally decided to inflict them upon the world in general. Some of them are ghostly tales, combined with loveable characters and interesting situations which make them ghost stories with a difference. However, I also write children’s stories, the first of which, ‘Robin’s Ring’ is published and I’m working on another Robin story. My new series, The River View Series, presents mild mysteries with a difference – and are set in my beloved Herefordshire.

Much to our youngest daughter’s disgust, I love old buildings, castles, mansions, historical places, especially ruined buildings and they are often the inspiration for my stories.

My retirement from my job as a teaching assistant has given me the opportunity to indulge my love of writing and I ask for no more than to give pleasure to my readers. When not writing, I’m making cards, singing in a ladies’ choir, doing Family History and all sorts of other things. I am married to Tony, a retired teacher, and we have six children and seven grandchildren. We live near Nottingham, England.

My Review

Although this is book 4 I believe in the River View series, it’s book 1 to me, new author new mysteries. New characters and plots are always exciting. Will I like them? Will they be clichéd? Will the book stall? And I’m happy to say I Loved the characters, even the villagers, Bemusing as they are. Some are clichéd but that’s ok, I think I’d be disappointed if they weren’t. And for me, the book never stalled.

The campervan mentioned in the blurb pipped my interest first, so I just HAD to read. There’s nothing more English than countryside murders and campervans.

With realistic and vivid descriptions you can easily picture yourself smack bang in the middle of the mystery, plodding the beat looking for clues.

Fast paced and an absolute page turner, I was sad it was over. I will be going over the previous three, as I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Likeable characters that you will warm too, and invest in. I think it’s suitable to all readers. A definite one to take on holiday and enjoy that ‘me time’ with.

Mass Awakening by Sushi Herscu #BlogBookTour

Archive, blog book tour

For a kick start into New Year, I’m starting with a Book Blog Tour and a completely different genre of book.

#AD #GIFTED as ever this is a gifted book in return for my opinions, but all opinions are my own. Rarely do I dislike books, as that’s the sort of person I am, I love nearly all books. I just stay clear of romantic, girly ones as they aren’t to my taste.

So here it is MASS AWAKENING

Mass Awakening

The Truth has been hidden from us while a global policy of mass depopulation and exploitation has been carried out behind the scenes for the past half-century. The author, an independent journalist, became aware of this agenda only in the past few years. She found it hard to believe, but in-depth research and the testimony of whistleblowers worldwide have exposed these strategies. They include geoengineering (chemtrails), fluoridation of water supplies, GMOs, vaccinations, false flag terrorist attacks, and economic warfare by the group David Wilcock calls the Cabal. However, despite this grim reality, a positive shift of mass awakening is occurring worldwide. Tribunals are being established to prosecute elite offenders; revelations of hidden technology like free-energy and new economic models are being put forth. The author shows how humanity is claiming its rightful heritage as spiritual beings and charts the course of our elevation of consciousness.

MASS AWAKENING gives us all real hope for an amazing future.

Mass Awakening is Shoshi Herscu’s well researched and yet profoundly personal handling of intensely shocking material, rarely covered in print. It is both a true inspiration and a much- needed breath of fresh air.

About the Author Shoshi Herscu

Shoshi has an MBA degree from the University of Humberside in Hull, England, and is a graduate (BA degree in English linguistics and special education) of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. She has worked as a journalist for PCON magazine, which is an IT magazine for CIOs and CTOs in major companies and organizations in Israel. In this position, she wrote in-depth articles on a wide array of advanced technologies, such as encryption, the Dark Net, analytic tools, protecting the corporate website.

My Review

Stepping out of my usual comfort zone, and diving head first into the world of conspiracy theories, warfare, chemtrails, and the whole dumbing down of the population. Ever so true with Trump and Johnson being voted in, in my opinion.

It’s scary to read but very informative, perfect stepping stone for those that are new, or equally as useful for adding to the wealth of knowledge the reader has collected prior to this. The author seems well read and full of useful information and it’s nice to read something that isn’t my regular read.

It’s a more considered read, one I found I wanted to take stock and digest, and discuss with partners and family. It stays with you long after you’ve read it, and it’s certainly opened my eyes on subjects. I will be falling down a rabbit hole, trying to research more on these matters.

#Blogmas Look Fantastic December Box

Archive, Make Up, Beauty, Skincare

December’s #lookfantasticbeautybox I thought I’d cancelled, so bit of a shock when it arrived.

We have inside

#RealChemisty Luminous 3 minute peel 20ml rrp £19.88
Get party prepped skin by refining complexion exfoliating face peel. Will my sensitive skin accept it though? Thats question?

#Eylure Texture 117 lashes rrp £5.08
Lightweight strip lashes which are great for day or night. But can I actually successfully wear lashes? We will see soon.

#BumbleAndBumble invisible oil heat if protection 30ml £5.00
Feather light primer pre styling most to help protect against heat styling, if days and breakage. (Super happy to get this, as I need it so bad)

#Sleek i-divine palette goodnight sweetheart rrp £8.99 12 shades that suit most skin tones, mixture of mattes and shimmers.

#Prai platinum firm and lift creme 10ml rrp £9.00 Super pleased this is in here, I’ve used their products before and adored them. Perfect anti aging moisturiser than hydrates and defends against free radicals.

#Eyeko black magic liner 4ml rep £9.00 their darkest ever eyeliner, felt tip like, so easier to use and create a perfect wing. (Unless your me, and can never do it)

Not bad, couple of duds to me personally as I feel they are over done, and that’s the eyeliner and palette. But the Peel, and Moisturiser and Heat Protector more than make up for the 2 blah products. Not a bad party prep box at all.

And of course you get an Elle magazine to read which itself is worth £4.50 though I confess I barely read it.

#Blogmas 47 Weeks Post #HipReplacement

Archive, Blogmas 2019, Health, Hips, Hypermobility, Hip replacement

*Update from Mondays post. See here I’m instructed to take 8x paracetamol and 3x 400g ibuprofen as well as use the gel. See how I feel after 10days of continuous use*

So my black Friday haul was….

Last week I was sharing that my physio which is fortnightly killed me off for 4 days minimum. And that I was wondering what she would set for me this last week.

Well, it was another killer, let me say that!!

  • Stationary Bike Level2 x5mins
  • Leg Press 40kgs x 30reps (this felt good)
  • Bosu Ball Side Lunges (parallel bars for support) x 15reps each side
  • Upside Down Bosu Ball Squats (parallel bars for support) x 10reps (feels stronger in right leg)
  • Trampoline Marching (helps to release pains in glutes a bit) x 3mins
  • Walking Lunge with Dumbells (parallel bars for support) x 15 reps each side (still lean to the right side though)

The morning after though, wasn’t as bad as I thought. Just some right knee giving away once the leg got tired. So it’s an improvement from last time being bedbound for 4 days.

Managed to finish off Christmas shopping, as I’m too scared to do any in December, the crowds the traffic is too much for me. So like last year my aim was to be free of stress all December. And enjoy the 2 family birthdays and baby arrival instead.

#Blogmas are you doing it?

It’s here, it’s the festive season and it is the time I try, very very hard to blog everyday. Or as near as I can.

I see many a fabulous blogger with amazing content doing #Blogmas, or if you are on YouTube check out #Vlogmas. Well worth checking them out for your Festive fixes.

Although I’m going to try and join in, mine won’t all be Christmas related, or even as I prefer Yule related. As honestly my life isn’t that affected by Christmas anymore.

Gone have the little people that make it all the magic that it was, and though I LOVE seeing my grown children at Christmas, they have their own lives and families too.

Ours is a low-key Yule celebration and less about consumerism now as well. Once everyone is grown they can and do buy all this things they’ve ever wanted. So for us it’s food and being together that is important.

Confession, haven’t even thought about putting the tree up yet.

But I’m loving the shops displays, and with this cold snap lately, I’m definitely feeling more festive.

MY REVIEW

I have no experience with this author, or their writing style, which I like, as it means I get exposed to many great authors I would never have found otherwise.

A good murder story will always be my favourite, the guessing, the piecing clues together, the diversions and back stories set up to trick you.

It ends in a real page turner, one that you just have to race through to see what happens next.

I enjoyed the characters, which truly helps to be engaged with the story. You feel invested in their lives, you actually care which is rare for me.

I’ll be hunting more from this series, I don’t feel too behind by reading number 6 first. It’s a good book standing by itself. But I will enjoy going to the beginning to see how it all unfolds.

#AD GIFTED as always this book was gifted for a review, but all opinions are my own.

Totally new author for me, I confess I’d not heard of her before either, so fresh eyes, fresh characters to learn and either warm too, or hate with a passion. It’s exciting either way.

My Review

As the title suggests it’s a revenge story arc, it’s a classic bullied person seeks to get revenge. And although it sounds predictable as revenge stories are, it has a good narrative from the murderer themselves, explaining and detailing their crimes.

It’s full of suspense and I was full of wanting to save the person, but then thinking they kind of deserved it too. I switched from wanting them caught to wanting them to get away, so many times. My head was playing an internal tennis match.

I wasnt sure of the main character at first DCI Kirsty, but I gently warmed to her, and she has a keen eye and trusty gut instinct that you want all law enforcement to have. I love the sound of Benny, he conjures up quite a character in my mind’s eye. He is definitely my favourite one.

I’m interested to see if this becomes a full series, will DCI Kirsty feature in more books, as I’m sure to read them. I’m keen to see how they all develop over time and with more cases under their belts.

#AD Affiliate

This month I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be able to try out some incredible products. I am on their PR list and I do have an affiliate code.

However I’m under no obligation to post and share my love for them. I choose to do this on my own, as they are incredible products and very affordable too.

Yes I have an affiliate code, (SIRENMOONBEE) Which ive yiu 30% sitewide, however if you are in the UK like me, I suggest to you via BeautyBay my code only works on the official Gerard Cosmetics but I understand my UK readers will find it cheaper and easier to order inside the UK.

As you can see I’m getting a fairly large and well used items. Some are new to try out, such as the highlighter which I know already I’m definitely buying again and again!! I got Grace star powder available here a beautiful golden glow, subtle but there, my new found LOVE.

I also made sure I tried the much raved about lip pencils. And I’m so glad I did. I chose #Cher #SugarAndSpice #Ecstasy #MelrosePlace all various pinky nudes and perfectly me, no matter the occasion. I do prefer subtle make up, muted even as mostly it’s day wear. Buy them here Cher is here

Ecstasy is here

Melrose Place is here

Sugar And Spice is here

For lipsticks I decided against another Hydra Matte as I know I love them, and will return to them once mine are all gone, instead I bought a #LyricaCollab James Gloss which is deliciously dark and seductive. You can buy here

I love the light and mirror that comes with these glosses, so I had to get another gloss but in pink, to occasionally brush over the lip pencil colours. I got #PinkFrosting you can buy Here

And because I LOVE liquid lipsticks I had to try the #RoseGold Metallic liquid lipstick, and it’s even better than I imagined. Buy it Here

To finish off I bought the Stastruck Palette, I believe it’s for highlighting, but I’m going to use mine as eyeshadow, as they shimmer and shine so beautiful. When used wet with Mac primer the copper shade is breathtakingly beautiful. You can can one Here

My Review

As I said above I adore this series, it’s just light hearted enough to be enjoyed thoroughly on holiday, while not been too graphic and gruesome, although the mysteries keep you well entertained.

Jenny’s reluctantly to divert her focus off catering to solve murders always makes me giggle, as she’s so good at it. She is a book version of Murder she wrote, trouble always seems to follow her.

Always entertaining and I love the characters, they are so English to me. Another one loved wholeheartedly x
